TOUR DESCRIPTION:
A journey to the place where giants meet: the Karakoram, Himalayas, Pamir and Hindu Kush. Discover wild roads, the world’s highest mountains and the culture of Northern Pakistan.
From the Silk Road valleys of Hunza to the Khunjerab Pass at 4,700 m!
Ride the legendary Karakoram Highway, one of the highest and most spectacular routes on Earth. Travel by motorcycle among the snow-covered peaks of four colossal mountain ranges: the Karakoram, Himalayas, Hindu Kush and Pamir. Fall in love with Northern Pakistan, where glaciers meet apricot orchards, ancient fortresses guard historic trade routes, and every turn reveals a landscape that looks like it belongs to another planet.
Our expedition will take you across high mountain passes, deep valleys, suspension bridges and ancient mountain villages. We’ll explore Skardu and the attractions of its dramatic valley, including the Cold Desert. We’ll stay in the beautiful Hunza Valley. We’ll reach the famous Fairy Meadows, with Nanga Parbat — an eight-thousander — seemingly within arm’s reach. We’ll cross the Shandur Pass and visit the highest polo field in the world. We’ll meet the Kalasha people and experience their rich culture. We’ll see the Swat Valley — the “Switzerland of Pakistan.”
On this expedition, we combine iconic highlights with lesser-known roads and remote valleys that few foreign travellers have ever seen.

WEATHER:
If you don’t like the weather in the high mountains, wait a few hours… it will definitely change. The Karakoram, the Hindu Kush, the Himalayas, and the Pamir are so high that almost every valley creates its own microclimate, and weather conditions can shift very quickly. It may be bright and sunny, and just a few hours later — cloudy and cold. Our tour takes place in spring. Temperatures are very difficult to predict. You need to be prepared for all kinds of conditions: warm days with strong sun, sudden gusts of strong wind (sometimes even with snow), and cold nights.
MOTORCYCLE GEAR:
Remember that this is a motorcycle tour, and you are required to bring appropriate riding gear. Each participant is responsible for their own equipment. Adventure-style motorcycle boots or sturdy enduro boots work very well for this type of riding.
LUGGAGE:
We will be traveling light. Try not to take more than one 20kg luggage piece. It should be dust & water proof. For riding days take with you a small backpack or waterproof bag, with straps, to enable you to attach it to your motorbike.
IMPORTANT, REMEMBER:
Each participant is responsible for obtaining their own tourist visa for Pakistan. Upon request (for an additional fee), we can assist with the visa application process.
We will be traveling at high altitudes, so be sure to bring sunscreen and sunglasses.
During the tour, especially when crossing the highest mountain passes, you may experience symptoms of altitude sickness. Remember that the best way to minimize this risk is to drink plenty of water and electrolytes.

DAY 1 (26.04)
Arrival in Skardu
Upon arrival in Skardu, our team will welcome you at the airport and transfer you to the hotel, offering views of the rugged Baltistan peaks. After a well-deserved rest, we will complete all formalities, hand over the motorcycles, carry out technical checks, and hold a briefing to ensure everything is ready for the adventure ahead.
In the afternoon, we take a short warm-up ride through the Shigar Valley and the Sarfranga Cold Desert – an extraordinary landscape where mountains meet sand. Evening return to Skardu and welcome dinner.
DAY 2 (27.04)
Skardu → Hunza (approx. 290 km / approx. 8 hours)
After breakfast, the road follows the mighty Indus River, cutting through narrow gorges and towering rock walls. Near Gilgit, we enter the legendary Karakoram Highway, heading north toward the Hunza Valley. A short stop at the Rakaposhi viewpoint lets you admire glaciers and seven-thousand-meter peaks. The day flows to the rhythm of rivers and valleys until we reach Hunza in the evening. Dinner and overnight in a boutique hotel overlooking the valley.
DAY 3 (28.04)
Hunza Valley → Shimshal (approx. 115 km / 5–6 hours)
A gravel road carved into the cliffs leads deep into one of Pakistan’s most remote valleys – the Shimshal Valley. Narrow cliff ledges, hanging bridges over roaring rivers, and the vastness of the Karakoram create an unforgettable route. Along the way we see the Passu Cones and the photogenic Hussaini suspension bridge. High in the mountains awaits the remote village of Shimshal and its unique tranquility.
DAY 4 (29.04)
Shimshal → Gilgit (approx. 215 km / 7–8 hours)
We return from the mountain wilderness to the main artery of the north – the Karakoram Highway. On the way we stop at the blue Attabad Lake, formed after a massive landslide in 2010. Its turquoise water, dramatic cliffs, and quiet Hunza villages make it one of the region’s most iconic sights. The day ends in Gilgit, the former capital of trade routes linking Central Asia with the Indian subcontinent.
DAY 5 (30.04)
Gilgit → Fairy Meadows (approx. 80 km + jeep + 5 km trekking / 3–4 hours riding + 2–3 hours walking)
After breakfast we follow the Karakoram Highway to Raikot Bridge, where the asphalt ends and real adventure begins. We switch to old 4×4 jeeps climbing up to the village of Tattu, perched high above the Indus River. From here we start a hike through fragrant conifer forests to the mythical Fairy Meadows, located at the base of Nanga Parbat (8,126 m). Accommodation in a mountain lodge with views of the snow-covered peak.
Optional: horseback ride available from Tattu village for an additional fee.)
DAY 6 (1.05)
Fairy Meadows → Gahkuch (approx. 160 km / 5–6 hours)
We hike down and then take jeeps back to the road – the descent may be even more thrilling than the climb. We return to the motorcycles. Today’s route takes us through Gilgit toward the Ghizer Valley, full of green meadows, rivers, and pines. Villages, willows, and grazing yaks create a peaceful rhythm of the day.
DAY 7 (2.05)
Gahkuch → Phander Valley (approx. 100 km / 3–4 hours)
A day filled with spectacular scenery. The road follows a crystal-clear river, passing forests and small settlements. At midday the view opens onto the famous blue lake of the Phander Valley. A postcard-perfect place, quiet and untouched by crowds, ideal for a moment of respite. In the evening we celebrate a birthday 🙂
DAY 8 (3.05)
Phander → Booni via the Shandur Pass (approx. 125 km / 4.5–6 hours)
We depart early toward the famous Shandur Pass and its vast plateau. After crossing from Gilgit-Baltistan into the Chitral district, views of the Hindu Raj range unfold ahead. A scenic descent through valleys brings us to Booni, a peaceful town surrounded by towering peaks.
DAY 9 (4.05)
Booni → Garam Chashma (approx. 115 km / 4–5 hours)

DAY 10 (5.05) Garam Chashma → Ayun (approx. 70 km / 3–4 hours)
After breakfast the road continues through the Lutkoh Valley, along rivers and picturesque villages. The slopes of the Hindu Kush become gentler. Terraced fields and orchards begin to appear. In the afternoon we reach Ayun, a peaceful village located at the entrance to the Kalash Valleys – the gateway to one of Pakistan’s most fascinating regions.
DAY 11 (6.05)
Excursion to the Kalash Valley (approx. 50–60 km loop / 3–4 hours)
After breakfast we head to one of the Kalash Valleys – Rumbur or Bumburet. The road winds through a narrow gorge along the river, passing fields and forests. We meet the Kalasha people, the last pre-Islamic community of the region, known for their colorful clothing, wooden architecture, and warm hospitality. Walks through villages and encounters with locals.
DAY 12 (7.05)
Ayun → Swat (approx. 240 km / 7–8 hours)
After breakfast we ride south through Lower Chitral. We enter the Lowari Tunnel, which connects two different worlds – the stark mountains and the green Swat Valley. This is a land of orchards, waterfalls, and ancient Buddhist heritage. In the evening we reach Mingora or Fizagat, where the Swat River flows calmly among terraced fields.
DAY 13 (8.05)
Swat → Islamabad (approx. 280 km / 6–7 hours)
