Stadler Treasure Pro Set Review: A Suit for True Adventurers!

Aug 14, 2025

From the rugged landscapes of Patagonia to the endless expanses of the Altiplano, the Stadler Treasure Pro jacket and Quest Pro pants prove that in the world of motorcycle apparel, it’s still possible to find gear that combines reliability, functionality, and true comfort. This set is not a fashion accessory but a tool built by riders for riders, designed to accompany you on the toughest routes and in the most demanding conditions. Tested over 13,000 kilometers in extreme temperatures – from snowy subzero rides to sweltering 40°C heat – it has become a trusted companion, letting you focus on the ride and the adventure, not on struggling with your gear.

On the Road with the Treasure Pro

While preparing for two major expeditions, I had a few concerns. Until then, I had always ridden in the Klim Badlands suit on all my previous adventures – it had never let me down, no matter the conditions. This time, I decided to test the Gore-Tex Treasure Pro jacket and Gore-Tex Quest Pro pants from Stadler. Stadler is a German family-owned manufacturer that produces all its gear in Europe (unlike many competitors). They are known, among other things, for supplying gear to the German motorcycle police and for offering a 10-year warranty on their products.

The first expedition took place in Patagonia. The second spanned Chile, Argentina, and Bolivia, with an attempt to reach the highest rideable volcano in the world – Uturuncu. (You can find the travel story here.)

I knew this route would test not only the bike and rider but also the gear. Over seven weeks and more than 13,000 km, we crossed deserts, mountain passes, sun-scorched plains, and torrential downpours. The Chilean, Argentinian, and Bolivian Altiplano threw everything at us: wind, rain, blazing sun, countless river crossings, and even snow. I wore the Treasure Pro suit every single day, and it delivered on every promise.

It became part of my daily routine: zip it up in the morning and – no matter what the day would bring – forget I even had it on. That’s the mark of good gear: not flashy, but reliably performing kilometer after kilometer.

Solid Construction, Thoughtful Design

From the very first touch, the Treasure Pro inspires confidence. It’s also surprisingly light. The three-layer Gore-Tex Pro construction ensures durability and a reassuring sense of protection, without excessive stiffness. The outer fabric is reinforced with Armacor in strategic impact zones: shoulders, elbows, hips, and knees. After weeks of off-road riding, there were no signs of material fatigue: no pulled stitches, no broken zippers.

The comfort is remarkable. The cut is perfectly tailored for long days in the saddle – whether sitting upright or leaning slightly forward – nothing pulls, nothing chafes. You can tell this suit wasn’t designed in a lab, but by riders and for riders.

Even in situations where you have to move on foot – like crossing rivers that are too deep to ride through or pushing the bike – the suit never restricts your movements.

Effective Ventilation

In many suits, ventilation relies on zippers that open directly into the airflow, which can compromise waterproofing as the zippers age. At first glance, I feared the Treasure Pro might lack sufficient ventilation. I was wrong.

Stadler’s Air-Scoop System (SASS) makes all the difference. The air intakes on the arms and legs, shaped like sculpted vents, efficiently channel airflow inside. Add the zippers on the chest and back, and you have a constant stream of air when you need it most.

We rode in regions where the daily temperature range could exceed 30°C. I wore this suit at –5°C in 20 cm of snow, and also at 40°C in the lowlands. I was never drenched in sweat nor shivering with cold – just a matter of opening or closing a few zippers and continuing on.

Stadler truly nailed it with this ventilation system. In off-road conditions, however, you do need to regularly maintain the ventilation zippers to prevent them from getting stuck.

When it’s really hot, you can even leave only the inner zipper closed, revealing a mesh panel for extra cooling.

CE Level 2 Protection

I highlight this because it’s essential: protection is paramount. The Treasure Pro is equipped with SAS-TEC CE Level 2 protectors at the elbows, shoulders, hips, knees, and back. These aren’t simple pads but top-of-the-line protectors that stay perfectly in place. This is the highest level of protection available on the market.

Fortunately, I didn’t have the chance to test them in a crash, but when you’re riding in remote and technical terrain – especially in Bolivia – knowing you have this level of safety adds real peace of mind.

The suit also features discreet yet effective reflective elements – very useful when the sun is setting and you still have an hour of riding left before your destination.

Rain? No Problem Anymore!

Motorcycle travel means accepting that the weather can change in the blink of an eye, and your gear must keep up.

We rode through sudden downpours as well as full days of drizzle. The Gore-Tex Pro performed flawlessly: water simply beaded on the surface, and I always arrived at camp dry, while everything around me was soaked.

Another big advantage is quick drying. After a rainy day, I could leave the suit to dry overnight, and by morning it was ready for the next ride – no more heavy, soggy gear.

Everyday Comfort

True comfort can only be judged after riding several hundred kilometers. It’s not just about padding or lining – it’s the overall feel, hour after hour, day after day.

Despite its three-layer construction, the Treasure Pro moves with your body – nothing shifts, nothing flaps in the wind. Everything is adjustable: cuffs, waist, pant hems, collar. Stretch panels at the elbows and knees are a huge plus – no restriction of movement, and putting the suit on or taking it off is effortless.

Unlike some other models, it doesn’t come with an insulated liner – and that’s actually an advantage. You can layer as you wish: start with a merino base layer, then remove it when the temperature rises. You’re not stuck with a damp liner that takes hours to dry. During the entire seven weeks of riding, in all weather conditions, I managed with just three layers: two merino and one windbreaker.

Pockets Where You Need Them

You only really appreciate pocket placement when traveling – when you need to quickly grab gloves, earplugs, coins, a Swiss Army knife, and so on.

The jacket features waterproof external pockets. Yes, they stay dry even in heavy rain – something that, for example, Klim gear doesn’t always manage. Two outer cargo pockets are perfect for essentials, while the inner chest pockets hold your documents. Inside, several compartments keep valuables organized. And the rear mesh pocket? Perfect for storing wet gloves or a neck tube so they can dry while riding.

The pants pockets are well-placed, large enough, and secure – nothing falls out, even if you forget to close them. Unfortunately, they aren’t waterproof.

On long-distance rides, these small design details make all the difference.

Maintenance

Like any Gore-Tex gear, the Stadler suit should be washed regularly to ensure the membrane works properly. Machine wash at 30°C, without fabric softener and without spin-drying! Rinse twice to remove all detergent residue from the fabric. To restore waterproofing, simply iron without steam or – even easier – put it in a tumble dryer at medium temperature. Tested and approved!

Warranty and Repairs

Stadler gear comes with a 10-year warranty, excluding damage caused by crashes. For repairs, you can go through a dealer or contact Stadler directly. In either case, shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer.

Verdict

Motorcycle travel is not always easy – it tests the bike, the rider, and the gear. The Stadler Treasure Pro jacket and Quest Pro pants not only met the challenge but became my trusted companions.

This is not a flashy set and it’s not available in bright colors. The jacket comes only in beige-and-black or black, and the pants only in black. Discreet and functional, it quickly becomes “invisible” in daily use. This is not a fashion item, but a refined product focused on functionality rather than looks. Everything is exceptionally well-made and well-thought-out – built by riders for riders.

If you are planning a serious motorcycle road trip – across multiple countries, in multiple climates, and off the beaten track – this suit deserves your attention.

At 1,659 CHF for the jacket and 1,119 CHF for the pants, it’s certainly in the top tier. However, considering the number of BMW GS motorcycles sold in Switzerland each year for over 25k CHF, there is clearly a customer base that can afford this kind of gear.

What’s more, for a similar price to top-end models from Klim or Rukka, you are buying a product made in Germany by a family-owned company. This is an excellent opportunity to support European manufacturing. It’s also worth noting that, in addition to offering repair services, Stadler provides full customization of their products to fit all body types.
