Gravel Heroes
ARGENTINA – ALTITUDE WITH ATTITUDE: 11 – 21.10.2026

TOUR DESCRIPTION:
This is not a vacation. It’s an expedition.
This ride cuts through the remote, untamed north of Argentina. No fluff. No crowds. Just you, your bike, and some of the most breathtaking terrain on the continent.
This tour demands grit, endurance, and a solid off-road skillset. If your idea of a good time involves dust, thin air, unpredictable weather, and surreal landscapes — congrats, you’re in the right place. You’ll need to be flexible, ready for the unexpected, and willing to function as part of a team. Some nights you’ll rest in comfortable hotels. Others, not so much – because there is nothing better.
The journey begins in Salta, and will partially follow abandoned sections of the old Ruta 40 into the Altiplano. We’ll then push into extreme altitudes—riding to summit 4,953m! From the salt flats to ancient volcanic trails, the views are cinematic, the roads demanding, and the stories unforgettable.
The rental Yamaha Ténéré 250s is included in the price. While it’s not a rocket, it is more than enough for the route we will follow.
This is a motorcycle tour built for people who don’t want to be tourists. Who want something wild, high, and vast.

WEATHER:
October is one of the best months to ride Argentina’s Altiplano—cool enough to stay comfortable, warm enough to stay alive. Daytime temperatures hover around 22–26°C, ideal for long hours in the saddle, while nights dip to a crisp 11–13°C, just enough to remind you that you’re up high and far from anywhere.
Expect mostly dry conditions with the occasional light rain, especially later in the month. The skies are wide, the UV is serious, and the wind likes to make its presence known. In short: perfect weather for a rugged ride, as long as you pack smart and don’t mind if the weather somehow turns against us.

MOTORCYCLE GEAR:
Wearing adequate riding gear is an individual responsibility. We strongly recommend “adventure” or hard-shell motocross type boots for this ride. Bring your own gear.

LUGGAGE:
Space is limited in the support vehicle. Do not take more than one 20kg luggage piece. It should be dust & water proof. For riding days take with you a small backpack. Those that want can have soft panniers mounted on their motorcycles.
IMPORTANT, REMEMBER:
We will travel far from civilization. We’ll not always have telephone coverage. There may not be internet either.
You should carry a warm set of clothes with you on the motorbike.
Consider medevac coverage with Global Rescue or Garmin or equivalent for the expedition.
