TOUR DESCRIPTION:
Get ready for the kind of trip people pretend to take on Instagram, but actually do here. This 12-day, all-inclusive journey winds through the heart of Central Vietnam, balancing raw adventure with just the right amount of refined comfort. Designed for discerning travelers with a taste for the extraordinary, this tour invites you to ride Kawasaki Versys motorcycles along the legendary Ho Chi Minh Trail—though some will be doing it in style from a private car. The tour is accessible to all riders.
The journey begins in Hanoi, where the old world meets a roaring city pulse. After an evening of vintage Jeep exploration through its lantern-lit streets, you’ll head for the calm waters of Ha Long Bay aboard a luxury overnight cruise. From there, the ride intensifies—sweeping through jungle-lined mountain passes, traditional hill tribe villages, and ancient forests. You’ll snake through valleys and across rivers, from the limestone cliffs of Ninh Binh to the mystical caves of Phong Nha, on roads where every twist tells a story.
History isn’t just observed on this trip—it’s ridden. From bombed-out junctions and post-war tunnels to emperors’ palaces and timeless pagodas, the past is as present as the road under your tires. And when you’re ready to trade throttle for tranquility, you’ll find it in Hoi An, a UNESCO heritage town frozen in time, where lanterns light the streets, you can practise your lantern-making skills or head to the beaches.
Every detail is handled. Every meal is a discovery. Every night ends in comfort. And every kilometer takes you further from the familiar. This is not just a tour. It’s a moving portrait of Vietnam—seen from behind the handlebars, or, if you prefer, through a window with climate control.

DAY 1 – 10 April
Arrival at Hanoi airport. Transfer to your hotel in Hanoi city. In the evening, enjoy a classic Soviet-era 4×4 GAZ tour to catch key attractions. Highlights include: Ba Dinh Square & Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Thang Long Imperial Citadel, Long Bien Bridge with street food delights. End the day with a relaxed welcome dinner..
DAY 2 & 3 – 11 & 12 April
Hanoi – Ha Long Bay. Private minivan transfer to Ha Long Bay. Around 11:30–12:00, check in on the luxury 5* boat and embark on a premium overnight cruise. Cruise through limestone karsts and emerald waters, enjoy various onboard meals, kayaking, and serene views. Checkout from the boat around 11:30 and transfer to Hanoi by private minivan.
DAY 4 – April 13: Hanoi to Mai Chau (170 km)
Leaving Hanoi behind, the journey begins in earnest as we ride southwest along the Red River. The bustle of the city fades into the rhythm of rural life, with lush rice paddies and stilted wooden houses marking the landscape. This stretch is a gentle introduction to the ride ahead—a scenic glide through Vietnam’s greenest valleys, ending in the peaceful embrace of Mai Chau.
DAY 5 – April 14: Mai Chau to Pu Luong (130 km)
Today’s route takes us deeper into the countryside, along quiet backroads that wind through sleepy traditional villages. You’ll witness the fine and oddly specific craftsmanship of locals who specialize in making toothpicks and chopsticks—because of course they do. Time permitting, we’ll visit the home of a traditional medicine doctor, a man whose remedies are rooted in centuries-old knowledge, dried roots, and probably some lizard tails.
DAY 6 – April 15: Pu Luong to Ninh Binh (170 km)
The road today threads through Cuc Phuong National Park, Vietnam’s oldest nature reserve. Ancient trees tower overhead as you ride through dense forest and past limestone formations that hint at the caves still to come. Upon reaching Ninh Binh, we’ll take to the water for a boat journey—either the mystical caves of Tam Coc or the grander loop through Trang An, with an optional stop at Bai Dinh Temple, the largest Buddhist temple complex in Southeast Asia and a monument to both faith and architectural ambition.
DAY 7 – April 16: Ninh Binh to Do Luong (230 km)
This is where the story shifts. Today we officially join the historic Ho Chi Minh Trail. In the morning, we visit Chua Bich Dong, a charming mountain pagoda nestled among karst cliffs. The road then carries us to Do Luong, where we mark the symbolic “Kilometer Zero” of the legendary trail. If time allows, we’ll also stop at the Truong Bon memorial site, a place steeped in wartime history and reverence.
DAY 8 – April 17: Do Luong to Phong Nha (200 km)
The past rides with us today as we pass Đồng Lộc Junction, a crucial intersection during the war and one of the most heavily bombed locations on the trail. The journey winds through misty mountains until we arrive in Phong Nha, home to some of the world’s most remarkable caves. In the afternoon, we descend into the dramatic beauty of Paradise Cave—its towering chambers and glittering stalactites feel almost extraterrestrial.
DAY 9 – April 18: Phong Nha to Hue (230km)
For those not yet cured of cave fever, the morning offers an optional boat trip to Phong Nha Cave itself, where the underground river carries you deep into shadowy silence. In the afternoon, we cross the former demilitarized zone, stopping at the Vinh Moc tunnels—dug by hand and once home to entire families hiding from air raids. The road leads us into Hue by sunset, where history comes wrapped in imperial colors and crumbling grandeur.
DAY 10 – April 19: Hue to Hoi An (135 km)
If time didn’t permit a visit to Hue’s Imperial City the day before, we’ll begin the morning exploring the citadel and royal tombs. The ride south then takes us over Hai Van Pass, Vietnam’s most iconic stretch of coastal road, where cloud-kissed peaks descend dramatically into the sea. By late afternoon, we arrive in Hoi An—its old town glowing with lanterns, street food, and stories.

By late afternoon, we arrive in Hoi An—its old town glowing with lanterns, street food, and stories.
Day 11 – April 20: Hoi An
A full day in Hoi An offers a slower pace. This beautifully preserved trading port is rich in history, charm, and tailors who will fit you for an entire wardrobe in less time than it takes to eat a bowl of cao lầu. Whether you prefer sightseeing, shopping, or crafting your own silk lantern, Hoi An rewards curiosity at every turn.
Day 12 – April 21: Departure
On the way to Da Nang Airport, we’ll stop at Linh Ung Pagoda—home to the towering Lady Buddha statue—and the Marble Mountains, where hidden temples and caves perch above the sea. After a short domestic flight to Hanoi, you’ll catch your onward journey home, carrying with you the memory of every mile, meal, and meaningful silence.
