TOUR HISTORY

MOTOBIRDS

PATAGONIA

We’ve got thousands of unforgettable miles behind us, and we treasure every single one of them. Our riders and motorcycle shipping customers are like family to us, and we’d love to share some of our tour history highlights with you.

Our motorcycle adventures began in 2016 with women-only tours which soon evolved into co-ed tours around the world. Together, we have explored the Himalayas in India, the trails of Central Asia, the Andean and coastal roads in South America, and the depths of South East Asia. As we grew and expanded our horizons, we welcomed more and more riders joining our tours each year.

Take a peek to our two-wheeled adventures:

OUR STORIES

North Vietnam Off-Road
North Vietnam Off-Road
Taking motorcycle adventures to the next level, we travelled Vietnam off-road riding some steep and narrow single track including the infamous “Dragon’s spine” (Ta Xua). Riding Vietnam off-road reveals a different face of the country, one that is rarely discovered by tourists. We love a challenge, and those Vietnamese trails provided more than we could have hoped for!

We love riding Vietnam because it’s an extremely diverse country. The climate, the scenery, and the culture vary from region to region, and exploring Vietnam on two wheels is an experience we can’t get enough of. During our Vietnam tours, we hit some of the “must-see” places, but we also discover some of the hidden gems of the country off the beaten path. The Vietnamese are incredibly hospitable and friendly people, so we always make sure to stop and chat to the locals. Below is our ride report from Vietnam.

Georgia is the undiscovered jewel of the Caucasus, where off-road riding is nothing short of spectacular. We took a team of women riders to tackle some gnarly mountain trails and fast-flowing tracks of the steppe, overnighting in local homestays and sampling local delicacies. This was easily one of our most challenging, fun, and rewarding tours so far.

Himalaya: Women’s Motorcycle Tour
This was our very first, inaugural Motobirds tour with an ambitious goal – to take eleven women riders across the Himalayas. Starting in Manali and finishing the tour in Leh, we covered over 1,700 kilometers of gravel roads across Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh. Visiting Lahaul and Spiti valleys, battling high altitude, and getting well off the beaten path, we finally crossed Khardung La, the highest motorable mountain pass in the world. Needless to say, this was one of our most unforgettable tours.
